Social Media Intern

The Social Media Intern is primarily responsible for cultivating a community oriented social media presence for Hicks Memorial Methodist Church. This role equips our congregation with important information surrounding our church, as well as providing encouragement through church-oriented video clips/images. The ideal candidate will have a living faith, excellent writing skills, a knack for creativity and graphics, an aptitude for fast pace learning, and people skills that connect on and off social media (collaboration is must in this role). We hope to hire a self-starter who is passionate about communicating the Gospel.
 

Our social media intern position requires in person work in Duncansville, PA. The position will entail five semi-flexible working hours per week at fifteen dollars an hour. The social media internship will take place over the course of six months. The position may be paid as a stipend at the end of the internship ($1,950 total), or as a bi-monthly paycheck. Our social media intern will report to our Associate Pastor.

Job Description:

• Manage our church’s Facebook and Instagram accounts

• Content development in various forms for posts (reels, carousels, etc.)

• Maintain a consistent voice and visual appearance that aligns with our church mission and values

• Develop a social media schedule and method of communication for collaboration among staff to communicate important events

• Monitor social media engagement

• Respond to comments/messages within the realm of our social media accounts

• Other duties as assigned
